Child Welfare in India: An Important Cause

India is developing across diverse avenues from nuclear energy to modern medical treatments, where sky is the limit. However, amidst these achievements and glitter, one cannot forget important issues that are often neglected; lack of child welfare system is one such problem. You need to understand that children are country’s future and if we want a strong and prosperous India then we need to focus on child welfare in India. Life of children in our country can be very clearly demarcated in the haves and the have-nots category.

Some kids have everything they could ask for: loving parents, education, friends, good homes and a good life while there are less privileged kids in India who have to face poverty, malnutrition and other issues on a daily basis. Sponsor a child is not a statement made in jest but it is a decision that will help you contribute to a noble cause in India.Child welfare in India is still in its nascent stages and not operated fully on a large scale. However,if everyone takes up this cause, then you can certainly turn this into a national agenda.

By supporting the child welfare movement in India, you are not only helping a noble cause but also laying down a strong foundation for a developed nation. If we ignore children and do not resolve issues pertaining to their basic rights such as education, health and nutritional food, then this soon will become a monumental problem hindering our growth as a country.

The child welfare programs in Indiafocus on different avenues, where different NGOs and voluntary organizations concentrate on varied issues. There are many children who work in factories under extremely bad conditions; there are groups who rescue such children. Moreover, there are young children who are deprived of schools as their towns do not have the facilities or their parents do not have the financial capacity to provide for even their primary education.

India is also struggling with lack of food for its children; forget a nutritionally balanced diet, they are deprived of a proper meal and a glass of clean water. There are so many obvious issues that need to be resolved, the need of the hour is not only manpower but funds are required too to combat these issues. We should not ignore the plight of less fortunate as well as terminally ill children. Weneed to help and aid them in every possible way.  If it is not possible to donate towards child welfare, then you can donate or give your time to them. Depending on your skills and requirements of voluntary organizations, you can assist them. One can teach students or visit hospitals on weekends.

It is very important for everyone to ensure that not a single child in India suffers. Every child deserves a chance to overcome their issues and lead a better life. You can take a pledge that going forward you will support child welfare in India and bring a smile on every child’s face.
